Following the arrest of former DPW Fleet Manager Richard Fevang, City Manager, Charles B. Strome issued a public statement stating that he holds all employees to the highest ethical standards and would turn his ethics against anyone. To his credit, director Richard Organisciak has never made a similar claim (and rightly so).

Renato Sansato (DPW):Arrested for assault after allegedly dragging a guy out of a bar and beating him for defaulting on Sansato's loans. Sansato was released after his arrest, but was later found "not guilty". Sansato told Talk of the Sound that people from City Hall borrowed money from him, but since his resignation, those people have not repaid the loans he made.

Joe Cotroneo (DPW):Caught vacating private property owned by former Councilman Roberto Lopez during city hours, using city equipment and staff, fired for good cause June 2011.

Walter Vanderberg (DPW):Arrested by New Rochelle police after driving a wheelchair-bound woman down North Avenue. While working as a driver for DPW, there were numerous issues with Vanderberg and his lack of a driver's license. He was arrested because he did not have a driver's license.

Town Hall Administration

Jason Martinez (IT department):Arrested by undercover DA agents for drug trafficking (ecstasy pills). Wife/fiancée, elementary school teacher (Patricia Martinez) in the New Rochelle school system. Detectives from the Prosecutor's Office found a marijuana farm where the couple lived with a small child and, concerned for the child, decided not to arrest her mother.

Domenic Procopio (Public Service Commission):Cheated on property taxes, incorrectly claimed STAR and combat veteran exemptions for 8 years, incorrectly denied jobs, failed to select from the eligibility list, failed to post job advertisements, failed to hold public meetings. Refund required after Talk of the Sound story about illegal exceptions for veterans.

Beverly Silverman, public service:He "quit unexpectedly" after being caught paying family members for non-submitted jobs as a public sector exam proctor; teacher in the New Rochelle school system and wife of a New Rochelle police officer (Alan Silverman?).

Detective Jeff Wilson (NRPD): Allegations of malicious prosecution, harassment, wrongful arrest in the Stephenson Boulevard case in a federal lawsuit.

Police Officer Kenneth Frank, (NRPD):He burned his car and boat in an insurance fraud scheme while he was caught doing a side job on disability leave.

Police Alan Silverman: I wanted to see if this is Beverly Silverman's son.

Police Officer John Pastore (NRPD):Driving drunk, he drove the vehicle into Carlyn's Cove Bar in Larchmont, NY.

Policewoman Jamillah Blair (NRPD):He "resigned unexpectedly" before the hearing summoned DWI after his arrest, and he left the scene of the accident. The person he left behind at the crime scene was seriously injured. She ran away from her and then the police found her hiding in her house.

Kim Nieves (Principal, Jefferson Elementary School):allegedly violated state election law by collecting petitions for a school board candidate on school grounds. José Martínez, his deputy director, abruptly resigned in March and later pleaded guilty to repeatedly raping a 14-year-old boy.

Kareem Ali (Finance/Special Education)– Sexually harassed a senior financial official; forbidden to have direct contact with the woman and not allowed to pass through a certain place in the corridor on the second floor. Robert McLean (school assistant general, security):he is currently under investigation by the Westchester District Attorney's Sex Crimes Unit. McLean allegedly participated in a "game" popular in some Caribbean countries in which money is taken from district employees' paychecks and one person is chosen each week to "win" the money. After reports that McLean had gotten away with murder, two men showed up at New Rochelle High School looking for him and wanting their money back from him. They bypassed security and went to the security office to look for McLean. In a security briefing on the incident, it was determined that the radio code "1010" indicated that someone was searching for McLean on school property. The amounts involved range from hundreds to $10,000 and $15,000.
